Delicious, fluffy New Year's pretzel

Lecker, fluffige Neujahrsbrezel - Wundermix GmbH

Would you like to try something completely different for baking? We tried out a fluffy and delicious New Year's pretzel for you.

You need the following ingredients:

  • 1/2 cube fresh yeast
  • 340g milk 3.5%
  • 100g sugar
  • 600g wheat flour type 550
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100g soft butter
  • 2 large teaspoons vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg for brushing
  • Granulated sugar for sprinkling

Preparation in TM:

1. Add milk, yeast, sugar and 1 tablespoon of flour to the mixing bowl for 2 minutes at 37 degrees on dough level 2.

2. Then let the dough rest for 15 minutes.

3. Add the remaining ingredients - except egg and granulated sugar - for 5 minutes at the dough level.

4. Then let the dough rise, covered in a bowl, for 45 minutes.

5. Then divide the dough into 3 equal pieces and roll them into 1 meter long strands, braid them and shape them into a large pretzel.

6. Let the pretzel rest covered on a greased stone plate or on a baking tray lined with baking paper for another 30 minutes.

7. Finally, brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.

8. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees top/bottom heat for 25 minutes.

The pretzel was actually supposed to cool down before eating, but unfortunately we weren't able to do that because it looked and smelled so incredibly delicious.
