Which Thermomix® is suitable for risotto?

As is often the case, with this recipe for the Thermomix® risotto it depends on the quality of the products you use. Be sure to use the right short-grain rice, which you can often find in the supermarket under the name risotto rice. It is just as important that you use real Parmesan. Ideally, use a white wine that you then serve to your guests with the dish. The Thermomix® is a great help when cooking and steaming risotto. With the right spatula and gently stirring on level 1, your iconic Italian recipe is guaranteed to be delicious. For perfect cooking results, use the Thermomix® TM31, the TM5 or the latest TM6.

Risotto from the Thermomix® — how much does it cost?

The risotto from the Thermomix® is not a recipe for every day. The ingredients, starting with the rice, must all be of the best quality. Unfortunately, ingredients like Parmesan, which is aged on average for up to 24 months, come at a price. Expect to spend around 10 euros if you want to prepare the recipe for four people.

The risotto Thermomix® recipe

The big advantage is that you can adapt the great recipe to suit your mood, the season or your personal taste. With dried tomatoes, green asparagus or porcini mushrooms you can ensure that special flavors are created when steaming.

● 250 g risotto rice
● 1 large onion
● 100g freshly grated Parmesan
● 25 ml virgin olive oil
● 150 ml dry white wine
● 1 liter vegetable broth
● 50g butter

Risotto from the Thermomix® step by step

When making risotto from the Thermomix®, pay particular attention to the times specified. Take some time and your delicious recipe will become a highlight in your personal repertoire.

1. Put the onion in the mixing bowl and chop it for 3 seconds on level 5.
2. Add the olive oil and sauté the onion on level 1 and at 100 degrees for three minutes.
3. In the next step you add the rice. Steam for another three minutes.
4. Deglaze with the white wine and mix the whole thing on speed 2 for 5 seconds.

Now add the vegetable broth and cook your risotto according to the Thermomix® recipe for 25 to 30 minutes on the stirrer setting at 100 degrees. Remove the measuring cup from the mixing bowl so that the steam can escape.

Finally, stir in 80 grams of the Parmesan and the butter with the spatula. Season with salt and pepper and serve the risotto immediately with the remaining cheese.

If you want to vary the recipe, add herbs, dried tomatoes or even mushrooms when sautéing.
