With just a few baking ingredients and your WunderCentix mincer you can conjure up delicious shortbread cookies that not only taste wonderful, but also look impressive. Whether classic or in one of the eight unusual shapes - baking is now even easier. So grab your mincer and off you go! 

Ingredients  

  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g sugar
  • 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • A little grated lemon zest
  • 500 g flour
  • 2 level teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon milk

 

And this is how it works

  • Mix the butter until creamy using the Thermomix.
  • Put the sugar, vanilla sugar, egg yolk and lemon zest into the mixing bowl.
  • Sieve the flour and baking powder and stir in in batches with the milk.
  • Start dough mode (until a homogeneous dough is formed)
  • Remove the dough from the bowl, knead briefly by hand and shape into a ball.
  • Wrap the dough in cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  • Mincer and turn the dough through in batches.
  • Place the formed shortbread on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  • Bake at 185 °C (top/bottom heat) for 10-15 minutes. The pastries should still be light in color.

Tips & tricks for baking shortbread cookies 

 

 

A well-chilled dough ensures even shapes - at least 1 hour in the fridge! Use high-quality butter for a particularly tender result. Keep the mincer clean so that the dough slides through easily. If the dough sticks, dust it lightly with flour. Experiment with attachments for a variety of shapes.

 

Important: Leave the cookies light after baking to keep them nice and crumbly. Your shortbread is guaranteed to be an eye-catcher and a delight!
