Of course, with the Thermomix the dishes are prepared in no time at all. But on some days, it's still nice to have a plan B in the fridge. Meal prep, which means preparing food in advance, is the ideal solution. Meal prep allows you to prepare large quantities of food at your leisure so that you can conjure up a complete meal the following week in just a few simple steps.
Beginners are advised to start by preparing lunch for the following day, while professionals can prepare a whole week's worth of meals in advance. As well as saving a lot of time, the best thing about meal prep is that when you're preparing your food and you get the munchies, you're less likely to reach for an unhealthy snack because your meal is almost on the table. This means that those who prepare food in advance live healthier and throw away less food.
Which foods are suitable for meal prep
As nobody wants to eat the same soup all week, meal prep is all about adding healthy variety to your diet. You start by pre-cooking vegetables, fish, meat or tofu and a wide variety of side dishes and sauces and then freeze them or store them in the fridge. You can do the same with your breakfast. Overnight oats or bread and rolls are particularly suitable for preparation. Once you have prepared everything and thought of enough vitamins and protein, you can combine the individually packaged foods to suit your taste and refine them with a few fresh ingredients such as nuts or sprouts. Don't forget the small snacks in between. Snacks such as energy balls or muesli bars can also be prepared and stored in larger quantities.
So delicious that you'll want to eat them for 2 days straight
You don't feel like planning your food far in advance, but have simply cooked up a huge batch of your favorite sauce with pasta so that you can eat it for two days straight? Then don't waste time taking the leftovers out of the mixing bowl to put them in a tin, just cover it with our silicone lid for the mixing bowl. Thermomix-TM6/TM5/TM31 mixing bowl and put it in the fridge. All you have to do is fold the tabs upwards, place the lid on the mixing bowl and fold the tabs down again - and you can put the bowl in the fridge, tightly sealed. And because the mixing bowl lid is no longer on the mixing bowl, the height of everything fits easily into the fridge shelves.
A little tip from the Wundermix team:
The lid is perfect for cooling ganache or cream in the fridge. If you want to spread a ganache on a cake, for example, it needs to be well chilled beforehand. With the silicone lid on the mixing bowl, you can put it in the fridge and be sure that the sweet ganache will no longer take on a fridge scent. The silicone lid is also an environmentally friendly alternative to cling film or aluminum foil. After use, it can simply be put in the dishwasher.
