Of course, with the Thermomix the dishes can be prepared in no time. But some days it's still nice to have a plan B in the fridge. Meal prep, which means nothing more than preparing food, is the ideal solution. With meal prep, you can prepare large quantities of food in peace and quiet and then conjure it up as a complete meal on the table the next week with just a few simple steps.
Beginners are advised to start by preparing lunch for the next day, while professionals have the entire meal prepared for a whole week. In addition to saving a lot of time when meal prepping, the best thing of all is that when you prepare your food and the craving hits you, you're less likely to reach for unhealthy snacks because your food is almost on the table. This means that those who prepare food in advance live healthier and throw away less food.
Which foods are suitable for meal prep?
Since no one wants to eat the same soup all week, meal prep is all about getting a healthy variety into your diet. So you first cook vegetables, fish, meat or tofu and a variety of filling side dishes and sauces and freeze them or store them in the refrigerator. You can do the same with your breakfast. Overnight oats or bread and rolls are particularly suitable for preparation. Once you have prepared everything and thought of enough vitamin and protein sources, you can combine the individually packaged foods according to your taste and refine them with a few fresh ingredients such as nuts or sprouts. Also think about the little hunger in between. You can also prepare and store snacks such as energy balls or muesli bars in larger quantities.
So delicious that you'll want to eat it for two days straight
You don't feel like planning your meal far in advance, but just made a huge batch of your favorite sauce with pasta so that you can eat it for two days? Then don't waste time getting the leftovers out of the mixing bowl to pour them into a container, just put our silicone lid for the Thermomix mixing bowl TM6/TM5/TM31 on it and put it in the fridge. All you have to do is fold the tabs up, place the lid on the mixing bowl and fold the tabs back down - you can then put the pot tightly closed in the fridge. And because the mixing bowl lid no longer comes on the mixing bowl, everything fits easily from the height into the cooling shelves.
A little tip from the Wundermix team:
The lid is ideal for cooling ganache or cream in the refrigerator. For example, if you want to cover a cake with ganache, it must be cooled well beforehand. With the silicone lid on the mixing bowl you can put it in the fridge and be sure that the sweet ganache will no longer smell like a fridge. And the silicone lid is also an environmentally friendly alternative to cling film or aluminum foil. After use, it can simply be placed in the dishwasher.
