Asparagus rolls with Black Forest ham and potatoes

Preparation 30 minutes (peel asparagus, cook & peel potatoes)

  • 500 ml water
  • 800 g asparagus
  • 1 piece of sugar cube
  • 60 g Black Forest ham, sliced ​​very thinly
  • 20 g grated Emmental cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • some paprika powder
  • 6 small potatoes


Peel the asparagus and cut off the woody ends. Pour 500 ml of water, salt & sugar and the wine into the mixing bowl, place the peeled asparagus in the Varoma® and steam cook for approx. 20 minutes/Varoma®. In the meantime, cook the potatoes, peel them and keep them warm. Wrap two asparagus spears with a slice of Black Forest ham. Slowly melt the butter in a small saucepan. Put the whole thing in a baking dish, the melted butter and grated cheese on top and briefly put the whole thing under the grill. (Cut the cheese into small pieces and place on the asparagus along with small flakes of butter). The boiled and peeled (still warm) potatoes can also be placed under the grill in the oven.

Serve hot!
