Danger of addiction ---- These cheese rolls are amazing!!!
½ cube of yeast
1 geh. tsp sugar
250 g water ......................... 37°/3 min/1 (heat/dissolve)
375 g wheat flour
1 geh. tsp salt
150 g grated Emmental cheese or grated Gouda cheese.............4 min / kneading setting (or approx. 10 min. in a food processor)
for spreading/ sprinkling
2 tbsp milk and 1 egg yolk
50 g ger. cheese
Place the soft dough on a floured work surface and shape into a roll, cut off approx. 9 pieces and place on a baking tray; cover and leave to rise for approx. 15 minutes.
Then brush with the whisked milk egg, spread the rest of the cheese on top and bake in a COLD oven at 200° circulating air for approx. 20 minutes. Allow to brown slightly - keep an eye on it!!!
