Ingredients for the large baking tray:
- 380g butter
- 380 g fine baking sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar or 2 teaspoons homemade
- 3 eggs
- 600g flour
- A little fat for greasing
- 11 medium apples
- 80 g desiccated coconut
Preparation:
For the ground:
Place 200 g butter, 200 g sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, flour and baking powder in the mixing bowl and mix for 1 min/speed setting 4 .
Grease and lightly flour a large baking tray. Put the dough on top and roll it out with the rolling pin.
For the sprinkles:
Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
Place the remaining ingredients in the mixing bowl and process into crumbles for 30 seconds/speed setting 4 . Transfer and knead lightly.
Peel, core and eighth apples. Spread over the dough lengthways. Spread the sprinkles on top and bake in the preheated oven for approx . 40-50 minutes . (I turned our oven up to 200 ° C half the time.)
Tip:
If you want, you can sprinkle the apple cake with cinnamon sugar. You can also top the cake with other fruit, such as plums, cherries or apricots.
